Stories
In their words, with their permission.
We do not publish anyone’s story without asking them first, in writing, in a language they read comfortably — and we do not photograph people at their lowest moment to raise money. Anyone here can ask us to take their story down at any time, and we will, that day.
We have no stories to show you yet.
That is not an oversight, and this page is not unfinished. We are a young foundation, and we have not yet supported someone who has given us written permission to publish their story.
We could fill this page in an afternoon. Plenty of organisations do — a stock photograph of someone who has never heard of them, a quote written by a copywriter, a first name invented to sound plausible. It raises money. It is also a lie told about people who are in no position to object.
So this page stays empty until it can be honest. When someone does share their story with us, they will have been told exactly where it will appear, they will have agreed to it in writing, and they will be able to have it removed the same day they change their mind.
In the meantime, everything we do publish — our unit costs, our accounts, the figures on our home page — is sourced and checkable.
