Our accounts, without the pie chart.
A charity that only publishes its wins is not publishing. Below are the limits we hold ourselves to, and — once we have an audited year — what we actually spent against them, including whatever did not work. If something here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it rather than rephrase it.
Our commitments
What we promise, before we have anything to report.
These are pledges, not measurements. We have not completed an audited year, so publishing exact percentages would imply a precision we do not have. Bounds are what an honest promise looks like at this stage — and we expect to be held to them.
Programmes and field work
at least 80%
Food, shelter, wells, school fees, and the salaries of the people who actually deliver them.
Fundraising
no more than 12%
What it costs to raise the next donation. Nonzero, because pretending otherwise is how charities quietly stop growing.
Governance and admin
no more than 8%
Audit, insurance, legal compliance, banking. Unglamorous and not optional.
If we ever breach one of these, we will say so on this page rather than quietly restate the categories. Reclassifying fundraising costs as “programme” spending is the oldest trick in the sector and we are not going to use it.

Our promises to you as a donor
- We will never sell, rent, or share your details with another organisation.
- We will not phone you to ask for more. If we contact you, it is to tell you what happened.
- You can cancel a monthly gift in one email, without being asked to reconsider.
- If we make a mistake with your donation, we will tell you before you notice it.
